I graduated as a Business Engineer in 2012 and earned my PhD in Applied Economics from the University of Antwerp in 2017. From 2017 to 2023, I served as an Assistant Professor of Operations Research at the School of Business and Economics at Maastricht University in the Netherlands—an institution renowned for its problem-based learning approach. Since 2023, I have been appointed Associate Professor of Operations Research and Supply Chain Management at the Faculty of Business and Economics at the University of Antwerp. Here, I am a faculty member of the Antwerp Operations Research group ANT/OR.

Throughout my academic career, I've developed and taught a variety of courses in Operations Management, Supply Chain Management, and Operations Research at both the Bachelor's and Master's levels.

My research primarily focuses on the application of optimisation techniques and algorithms — ranging from exact methods to (meta)heuristics — to complex problems in logistics and supply chain management. Some of the key areas I work on include multi-stakeholder models for supply chain collaboration, speed optimisation and vessel synchronisation on inland waterways, data-driven optimisation of dynamic warehouses, circular supply chain models, and logistics optimisation in space.
