Data-driven optimisation and statistical modelling to improve meter reading for utility companies
Utility companies routinely dispatch technicians to physically read meters at customer premises, a routing-intensive operation with a direct impact on service cost. This project combines statistical modelling with vehicle routing optimisation to improve how meter reading routes are planned, using historical read data to inform routing decisions and simulation to evaluate the resulting efficiency gains.
